Caileigh Kind is a registered clinical counsellor, specializing in resettlement and relational trauma, major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and emotional awareness.
About Caileigh
I am a therapist, researcher and artist. Being a therapist is one of the greatest joys and privileges in my life. Working with each individual and being invited into their story is a true honour and one that I do not take for granted. I am passionate about the well-being of each person and want to see each individual heal and grow.
I have training as a generalist, meaning I have worked with a wide range of presenting concerns. Although, I have advanced skills and training in the areas of trauma (both PTSD and complex trauma), relationship therapy, emotional awareness, refugee and resettlement concerns, career and major life transitions, ADHD and addictions.
In all of my work, I prioritize decolonizing mental health through anti-oppressive, trauma informed and culturally responsive approaches. I work to conceptualize counselling as an aim towards connection, community, and strength-based work to support health, healing, and overall well-being. I work to build trust with each client and build a counselling space that feels safe, inclusive and healing with you.
When I am not counselling, you can likely find me hiking on mountains and through forests, swimming, kayaking, or painting and spending time with those I care for and love.
Counselling is a relational process. It is important to find a counsellor that is a good fit for you. To find out if I would be a good fit for you and your needs, I would be delighted to hear from you.

FAQs
-
My counselling approach is above all relational-cultural, emotion-focused, and psychodynamic. This means, I prioritize the relationship between you and me, work to build emotional awareness and understanding of emotions and look for how past experiences, past and present relationships and the environment informs you and your needs.
-
I have training as a generalist and have worked with a variety of presenting concerns, some of which include anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex PTSD, grief, ASD, ADHD, schizophrenia, OCD, relational stress, perfectionism, sex and sexuality, substance use and more.

Counselling is an individual process and often looks differently depending on the individual’s needs. However, the most important part of counselling is building trust between the therapist and the client. The first few sessions can often be focused on building trust, creating a relational alliance and learning a little bit about you, your background and what brings you into counselling. From there, you can expect that we will work together to find a pace, a focus, and approach within counselling that works for you and helps you feel safe and supported.
